Timba Británica is a London-based 15-piece Timba orchestra dedicated to bringing the power, complexity and dancefloor energy of contemporary Cuban music to UK and international audiences.

Formed in 2024, the band brings together a dynamic mix of leading Cuban musicians and UK jazz artists, reflecting London’s multicultural music scene while remaining deeply rooted in Afro-Cuban rhythm and modern Cuban salsa.

In a short time, Timba Británica have established themselves as one of the UK’s most ambitious Timba projects. The band has completed two UK tours, including a 2024 tribute to Los Van Van featuring Grammy Award–winning vocalist Mayito Rivera, highlighted by a headline performance on the Latino Stage at Glastonbury Festival. In 2025, the group toured a tribute to 1990s Cuban salsa with singer Dayan Carrera, formerly of Pupy y Los Que Son Son.

Alongside their live work, Timba Británica are building a strong recorded identity. Their debut single, Marcando La Distancia (2025), a re-imagined version of the Manolito Simonet classic, has been picked up by Latin DJs in over 26 countries and featured widely across dance festivals in Europe and the Americas. In 2026, the band enters a new phase, presenting original material for the first time and further defining their distinctive UK-based Timba sound.
