N’famady will be honouring our stage with his full band line up sharing a fusion of Mandingue African and western European jazz\, pop\, indie and funk provided by an ever-evolving collective of acclaimed guest musicians. It’s the perfect early Christmas gift to enjoy with the whole family.\n \nThree years in the making\, Lotte Reiniger’s beautiful 1926 silhouette animation brings to life magical tales from the Arabian Nights. The earliest surviving animated feature film – it has been hailed as one of the world’s most innovative and influential animations. Made in card\, cut entirely by hand\, and then manipulated using sheets of lead joined by wires\, Reiniger’s exquisite shadow characters move intricately through colourful worlds of demons\, witches\, beautiful princesses and flying castles. \nMusician\, Chris Davies reinvigorates the film with his skilful composition and live performance using a spectacular array of instruments from around the World to accompany Prince Achmed’s journey from the Middle East\, to Africa\, China and beyond. \nYou will also have the opportunity to meet some of Global Grooves’ larger than life puppets\, and learn the basics of puppeteering with your friends and family.
