SUMMARY:LOOSE ARTICLES + SUPPORT
DESCRIPTION:Grab a drink and strap in for the ride\, SCREAM IF YOU WANNA GO FASTER!!!\nSpecialising in discordant\, hypnotic repetition\, tales of boozy nights out\, and radical politics\, Loose Articles are a punk quartet with plenty to say. Their music speaks to all those determined to get through the age of austerity with tongue in cheek\, pint in hand\, and two feet firmly on the dancefloor. Playing repetition (repetition\, repetition…) with ragged edges and a sardonic\, sarcastic drawl delivered with fierce\, in your face\, punk-fuelled attitude\, both feminine & threatening\, Loose Articles are here to make a point.\n \n— \nSupport: Ambiere \n \nAmbiere explores the light and shade of life through her music. There isn’t a specific genre to best describe this artist’s work. However\, If you could imagine Fred again\, meeting up with Florence Welch and going to a 90’s rave (after they’ve meditated) then maybe that’s the best way. Although some may say that ‘ethereal dance/ electronic’ can also spring to mind. \nBy incorporating captivating melodies\, big beats and atmospheric vocals\, she’s ensured to take you as the audience somewhere you’ll be feeling joy\, happiness\, nostalgia and heartache all at once. Having gained support from BBC Introducing (Artist Of The Week\,) and being Tameside Radio’s Local Indie music Artist of the week\, highlights of Ambiere’s performances include supporting ‘LYNKS’ and performing at festivals such as Truck Festival\, Blackthorn Festival\, Y NOT Festival\, Made In Manchester Festival and playing at MCFC’s City Square pre match Stage. \n— \nSupport: Fig by Four \n \nFig by Four is multi-instrumentalist Sarah Statham\, who weaves ethereal thoughts on connection\, growth and change into a refreshing melting pot of alternative/indie musical storytelling. Her debut collection of songs\, released as the album ‘Capture Reveal’\, is hinged on pensive lyrics\, dynamic rhythms\, characterful guitars and ear-catching basslines. The 5-piece Fig by Four band have spent the last couple of years honing their electrifying and enthralling live set\, receiving an embracing and impressive response from audiences with their colourful and dynamic energy. \n— \n \nThe Project\nThe project is aimed at supporting young female/non- binary people into live music across a range of areas\, from performance to sound and technical roles. Working with grass roots music venues across the North that are often overlooked on the mainstream touring circuits\, the band Loose Articles will provide opportunities for participants to shadow them and their crew during get in\, set up and sound check. There will then be a Q&A session to ask any questions of the band and tech. For any participants who may have a band or a group they are early stages of building\, there is also an opportunity to bag a support slot for the evening gig\, as well as free entry to the young people who get involved. Of course\, everybody is invited to the gig in the evening to start the party! \nHow to get involved\nIf you would like to be involved\, then you will need to register your interest. Head over to this link where you can add your details. \n\nFor individual young women\, you can add your contact details. If you are under the age of 18\, you will need parental consent on the day\, and a responsible adult with you.\nIf you are a teacher\, parent or youth leader\, and want to register for young people in your care\, please add your contact details\, and the organisation you are working with.\n\nIf you have any questions\, please email: alison@almaisonproducers.net using Kick Like a Girl\, Extra Time Project as your title.

However\, this is no sombre occasion: Mr Wilson’s expend their collective musical talent paying homage to the diehard days of the Hacienda\, 90s club culture and its greatest hero\, Mr Tony Wilson. \nProudly stepping out in uniformed style\, they channel the spirit of Manchester’s 24 hour party people and get audiences dancing wherever they play. \nThis is a standing / dancing event with a very limited number of unreserved chairs and tables available on a first come first serve basis. Access seats available for those who require them. \n \nDOGSHOW \nThese two full-bodied canine brothers are on a mission to create the ultimate party experience\, and might accidentally be the most surreal band you’ll witness anytime soon. Fusing live techno\, jazz\, dance musicianship\, their show comprises a battery-powered ‘Dog-Trolley’ in the\ncentre of the audience. From here Dogshow conduct a ritualistic ‘howling at the moon’ ceremony\, channelling raw animalistic energy. Join the spectacle and unleash your inner canine as we release the hounds back into The Vale in 2025. \nSoundcloud.com/dogshowparty \n \nTickets £15.50. Advance purchase is recommended to avoid disappointment.\nWe offer a limited number of ‘Donate What You Can‘ tickets so that everyone can join us.

SUMMARY:Funke and the Two Tone Baby & Duncan Disorderly and The Scallywags
DESCRIPTION:Join us on April 12th for this high energy double bill at The Vale! \nFunke and the Two Tone Baby \nFunke and the Two Tone Baby is a one man army. Uncategorised and uncharted. A blur of buttons and sweat. Powerful walls of grooving\, dirty electronica and a whirlwind of energy walk a fine line between 90’s dance\, electro-rock and alt-blues. \nCreated live and direct with loopers and samples\, F&TTTB sets the bar of how much sound a one-man band can produce\, as fat dance beats and filthy synth basslines are juxtaposed by a beaten up blues guitar\, sing-along anthems and glitchy harmonica. Layered songs of positivity and social harmony mesh perfectly with compulsive dance grooves and infectious riffs. \nOver the last 10 years F&TTTB has played over 1000 shows and each year his musical style and sonic output have grown and expanded along with a dedicated and cult following. Smashing a tour support with Dutty Moonshine Big Band and the accolade of biggest ever opening crowd at Beautiful Days Festival\, F&TTTB has proven he can hold his own on the biggest of stages\, and against the most powerful of bands. \nDuncan Disorderly and The Scallywags \nDuncan Disorderly and The Scallywags are a full-power party band guaranteed to bring the energy and ignite any crowd! Fusing ska\, calypso\, reggae\, and afrobeat\, our vibrant\, festival-ready sound is a celebration of rhythm\, fun\, and connection. Known for our silly\, high-spirited performances and infectious grooves\, we’re the ultimate feel-good band that keeps audiences dancing and laughing from the very first note. \nWith a massive following built from years of relentless gigging\, we’ve captivated crowds across the UK and Europe. Our adventures have taken us to iconic festivals like Glastonbury\, Boomtown\, and Secret Garden Party\, as well as countless gigs across Germany\, Italy\, and Spain\, where our unique energy has won over fans old and new. \n— \nStanding show. If you require a seat for accessibility please get in touch before the show via hello@the-vale.co.uk \nDoors 7:30pm \nTickets £15* \n*A limited number of donate what you can tickets are available on a first come first served basis. SUMMARY:TC & The Groove Family + Support
DESCRIPTION:TC & The Groove Family are a 10-piece collective whose music celebrates the coming together of cultures\, and the unity that music can provide for everyone. Driven by drummer Tim Cook\, their live shows are powerful and dynamic\, exploring grooves and genres from the UK and around the world\, including afrobeat\, breakbeat\, jungle\, jazz and highlife. \nThe band have played alongside afro-fusion legends K.O.G & The Zongo Brigade and London jazzers Yussef Dayes\, Pyjaen and Cykada at shows in across the UK. In 2021\, the band performed as part of We Out Here’s online festival showcase\, before blowing the roof off of the Chai Wallah stage at Shambino in August. \nDebut album ‘First Home’ built upon the success of early singles\, finding support from Jamz Supernova and Craig Charles on BBC Radio 6 and Emily Pilbeam on BBC Introducing West Yorkshire\, as well as being playlisted on Jazz FM. The band recorded the album with Tom Excell (Nubiyan Twist\, ONIPA)\, and released it in June 2022 through Worm Discs ISnazzback\, corto.alto). Summer 2022 saw them make a name for themselves on the UK festival circuit\, with appearances at Glastonbury\, We Out Here\, Greenman and Kendal Calling topped with a crowning headline set on the Chai Wallah stage at Shambala. \n \nSupport comes from Ambiere \nAmbient fairy tale sounds with big beats. \nAmbiere explores the light and shade of life through her music. There isn’t a specific genre to best\ndescribe this artist’s work. However\, If you could imagine Fred again\, meeting up with Florence Welch\nand going to a 90’s rave ( after they’ve meditated) then maybe that’s the best way. Although some may say that ‘ethereal dance/ electronic’ can also spring to mind. \n— \nStanding show. If you require a seat for accessibility please get in touch before the show via hello@the-vale.co.uk \nDoors 7:30pm \nTickets £15* \n*A limited number of donate what you can tickets are available on a first come first served basis. SUMMARY:Crow
DESCRIPTION:Crow – Live at The Vale🗓 Saturday 24th May | 🕖 Doors 7pm | 🎟 Donate What You CanRecommended age: 14+ | Duration: ~1hr 30 mins \nA gig… with a twist. What starts as a live music performance by three musicians slowly transforms into something much stranger – and funnier. \nAs night falls\, songs give way to surreal surprises: playful illusions\, shadowy video projections\, and a good dose of offbeat comedy. Imagine a cross between a dreamy gig and a magic show gone slightly off the rails – more Tommy Cooper than David Blaine. \nCROW is a visually rich\, genre-bending experience that blends music\, theatre\, projection\, and sleight-of-hand into a darkly comic journey through the unexpected. \nCreated by Avanti Display – one of the UK’s most inventive outdoor performance companies – this is a show full of imagination\, absurdity\, and wonder. \n\n“A wonderfully curious and genre-defying musical and visual performance.”— Inside Out Dorset Festival \n\nFeaturing collaborations with:🎵 Seaming To (music)✍️ Lou Glanfield (words\, IOU)🎭 Mark Long (dramaturgy\, People Show)🎥 Chris Squire (AV design\, Impossible Arts) \n👁️‍🗨️ The evening opens with a special pre-show performance from Jon Mambo \n \nJon Mambo is a guitarist\, vocalist\, bass player and writer. He got his nickname ‘Mambo’ from earlier years as guitarist in the Manchester based Afro-Latin Jazz ensemble ” The Mambo’s”. Jon’s focus right now is on Brazilian and African style music played on the acoustic guitar and electric bass\, delving into the rhythmic and percussive foundations of the music and culture. \n\n\nPay what you can – no questions asked. We believe great art should be for everyone. SUMMARY:First Flags of Hope Exhibition – Mossley Market Ground
DESCRIPTION:Mossley Market Ground will be transformed into an open-air gallery of colour\, creativity\, and community spirit as 100 towering silk flags take flight during the monthly farmers market. \nEach flag is a unique artwork\, hand-painted and standing between three and six metres tall. Together they create over 540 square metres of art – the equivalent of half a kilometre if laid end to end\, enough to rise higher than Blackpool Tower. \nThese flags have been years in the making. From school workshops to care homes\, from neighbourhood projects to artist studios\, hundreds of people across Greater Manchester – of all ages\, cultures\, and traditions –  have shared their voices\, memories\, and hopes to create them. Side by side\, their stories are woven into the fabric of every design. \nAcross history\, flags have marked identity and belonging. In this exhibition\, they mark something greater: resilience\, unity\, and shared pride. This is a movement that welcomes\, not excludes – showing what can be achieved when communities come together to listen\, share\, and create. \nAnd here in Mossley\, that story runs deeper still. The town was once at the heart of the Industrial Revolution\, its mills powering a textile trade that carried designs and fabrics from Greater Manchester to communities across the world. Textiles here have always been about connection\, creativity\, and exchange across cultures. Flags of Hope continues that legacy\, returning textile artistry to the town where it once shaped identity and industry\, and reimagining it as a living symbol of community pride and collaboration. \nThe Flags of Hope Exhibition is presented by Global Grooves and Cabasa CIC\, two Mossley-based organisations dedicated to bringing people together through art and celebration. It has been made possible by the dedication of many volunteers including those from Mossley Town Council\, The Vale\, and local artists – whose energy and commitment have helped bring this vision to life. \nWe invite you to explore the farmers market\, stand among the flags\, reflect\, and celebrate the pride and creativity that unites our communities. \nMossley Market Ground\nSunday 31st August \n9am – 5pm \nThese are not just flags.\nThey are memories.\nThey are voices.\nThey are hope. \nGet involved\nThis is the first Flags of Hope Exhibition. With your support\, we can take this movement further – creating more exhibitions across Greater Manchester\, sharing more voices\, and raising more flags of resilience\, unity\, and pride. Together\, we can keep building spaces where creativity brings communities together. \nIf you’d like to volunteer to help create more Flags of Hope in the future\, visit: the-vale.co.uk/volunteer-with-us \nIf you would like to make a donation to help take this exhibition to more people across Greater Manchester\, you can donate here \nAbout Cabasa CIC\nCabasa CIC is a Mossley-based community interest company that mixes traditional textile craft with powerful storytelling. They celebrate heritage whilst pushing boundaries\, creating work that’s large-scale\, visually stunning\, and deeply meaningful. Everything they do is rooted in community and collaboration. \nAbout Global Grooves\nGlobal Grooves is a Mossley-based cultural organisation using music\, dance\, and carnival arts to inspire and strengthen communities. Their work brings together diverse voices locally\, nationally\, and internationally to create powerful\, inclusive celebrations.
