We hope to see you there! \nIf you’re interested in playing at our Sunday sessions then please do get in touch as we’d love to hear from you! \nOur house musicians will be playing a mixture of Latin and Brazilian vibes with an informal ‘Pagode’ style set with a unique Mossley flavour. \nWhat is Pagode? \nPagode is a type of samba originating in Rio de Janeiro\, Brazil. Distinguished by rhythmic improvisation\, its acoustic sound is created using a variety of percussion instruments\, song and string instruments such as Cavaquinho and guitar.\n \n  \nThis month’s special guest: Naomi Kalu \n \nNaomi is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter who has been creating\, playing\, and performing music since the age of 14. Along the way\, she has collaborated with other artists\, groups\, and organizations such as Sheba Arts\, Commonword\, and Expression Manchester. She has played at multiple venues and festivals in the region\, including Moovin Festival\, annual approached at Sheba Arts festival 2021-2024 as well as recent headlines at Band On the Wall and Inner Inc’s Speakeasy sessions. Naomi also partakes in jam sessions and open mics at NIAMOS Radical Arts Center\, Jam Street\, and other bars and locations across Greater Manchester. \nNaomi Kalu’s music is an eclectic plethora of sounds that remind listeners of artists such as Bon Iver\, Tracy Chapman\, Elliot Smith\, Frank Ocean and Lauren Hill. Throughout her musical journey\, she has played both acoustically and electrically\, with a love for lyricism\, imagery and experimenting with new sounds\, styles and instruments along the way.

Classes are £8 either via cash or bank transfer and multi class packs are also available for purchase.\n\nFounded in 2024\, Flow and Glow Yoga Co are built on the belief that yoga should be accessible to everyone regardless of age\, experience\, shape\, size or financial circumstances. Their mission is to help as many people as possible unlock the numerous physical and mental benefits of regular yoga practice\, fostering well-being and balance in a supportive and inclusive environment.Monday 6-7pm – Yoga for Beginners\nThis class is perfect if you are brand new to yoga or need a recap on the basics. Each week we explore a different theme and work through a sequence of postures\, exploring how each one feels within the body before slowing down for a relaxing stretch and savasana (final resting pose).Wednesday 6-7pm Vinyasa Flow (all levels welcome)\nDon’t be intimidated by the name – Vinyasa simply means moving with the breath. We will explore a new theme every week and move through a sequence with the breath allowing us to enter a fluid\, meditative state of movement. Options\, advancements and modifications will be offered which means that this class is suitable for everybody from beginners to advanced practitioners. \n\n\nClasses primarily take place in Studio 1 at The Vale which has step free access. DESCRIPTION:Join Jon and the team to finalise work on our removable micro hydro generator in the stream behind our venue. \nBy the end of these sessions we hope to have the turbine which has been researched and tweaked over the last 18 months up and running. \nThere are lots of small and larger jobs to do to get this done and we’re keen for anyone with an interest to get involved. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and share knowledge as well as be creative. We will be doing some practical work\, mostly outside\, drilling\, fixing\, sawing\, cabling\, and some internet work. \nSessions will run fortnightly from Saturday 1st February until 15th March\, 1-3pm.\nIf it’s your first session\, please arrive from 12.45pm for a brew and a chat.\nTaking place between Studio 1 and the stream. Meet in Studio 1. \nActivities may include: \n\nFixing the cable conduit and running cables between the turbine and the annexe building.\nFixing and connecting 2 x CCTV cameras near the turbine. These are to monitor water levels\, potential flooding\, and for security.\nFitting the removable weir and feed pipe. This is to direct water into the turbine.\nReinforcing the stream bed near the weir to prevent damage during high rainfall. It’s been scoured quite a bit recently and needs some TLC and reinforcement.\nInstalling and testing the turbine generator version1.\n\nPlease note: this activity may include trip hazards\, wet\, muddy\, rainy time spent outside so dress appropriately with sturdy and waterproof footwear etc. \nAges 12+. His music beautifully expresses complex emotion\, mastery and maturity with a unique yet instantly recognisable sound moving flamenco into a new exciting era. \nFrom Granada\, Ramón was trained in Seville’s renowned flamenco tablao ‘Los Gallos’ by a generation of world famous flamenco artists. After many years of working in Spain\, across Europe and touring internationally\, he continues to develop his art from London – followed by a new international and very current audience. \nWith extraordinary dexterity and musicality in both traditional and contemporary stylistic genres\, Ramón recently recorded his third album Calle Lunga in Abbey Road Studios London. It includes all original compositions and arrangements and was inspired by his journey of nearly 40 years mastering flamenco guitar internationally. \nRebeca Ortega has her base in Seville where she releases her recent production “RAÍCES” at Teatro La Fundición\, dances at tablao Los Gallos\, Tablao Flamenco de Sevilla and peñas flamencas like Torres Macarena and teaches flamenco dance classes\, while combining her unceasing touring which has lead her to perform in Spain\, Portugal\, England\, Scotland\, Wales\, France\, Belgium\, Germany\, Norway\, Denmark and Switzerland to give performances\, workshops and conferences. \nShe has a long formation including Flamenco\, Classical Spanish Dance\, Ballet and contemporary dance at prestigious dance schools like Professional Dance Conservatory of Seville\, or flamenco most renown schools\, “Amor de Dios” in Madrid\, “Flamenco Danza” in Seville. \nCarlos Lobo is an extremely talented artist with deep flamenco roots. He works regularly in tablaos in his native Seville alongside the top flamenco artists in Spain. He regularly tours Europe joining the Scottish National Opera and then to the Welsh National Opera for the play Ainadamar by Osvaldo Golijov. He joined the dance groups from the contemporary University of Cádiz and later joined the Dance Company “Passages” in Nantes\, France. DESCRIPTION:TC & The Groove Family are a 10-piece collective whose music celebrates the coming together of cultures\, and the unity that music can provide for everyone. Driven by drummer Tim Cook\, their live shows are powerful and dynamic\, exploring grooves and genres from the UK and around the world\, including afrobeat\, breakbeat\, jungle\, jazz and highlife. \nThe band have played alongside afro-fusion legends K.O.G & The Zongo Brigade and London jazzers Yussef Dayes\, Pyjaen and Cykada at shows in across the UK. In 2021\, the band performed as part of We Out Here’s online festival showcase\, before blowing the roof off of the Chai Wallah stage at Shambino in August. \nDebut album ‘First Home’ built upon the success of early singles\, finding support from Jamz Supernova and Craig Charles on BBC Radio 6 and Emily Pilbeam on BBC Introducing West Yorkshire\, as well as being playlisted on Jazz FM. The band recorded the album with Tom Excell (Nubiyan Twist\, ONIPA)\, and released it in June 2022 through Worm Discs ISnazzback\, corto.alto). Summer 2022 saw them make a name for themselves on the UK festival circuit\, with appearances at Glastonbury\, We Out Here\, Greenman and Kendal Calling topped with a crowning headline set on the Chai Wallah stage at Shambala. \n \nSupport comes from Ambiere \nAmbient fairy tale sounds with big beats. \nAmbiere explores the light and shade of life through her music. Come and see the next gen of musicians to come out of Mossley in this special youth band showcase\, featuring: \n\nRoom 3\n\n\nRoom 3 is a small band from Saddleworth that was formed in January 2025. The band is made up of Freddy (lead guitarist)\, Luke (bass guitar)\, Lexi (singer) and Sonny (drums). The band performs cover songs from bands like Oasis\, Blur\, The Cranberries.  More recently the band came 2nd in The Battle of the Bands at Kirklees College (Huddersfield).  If you like what you hear give them a follow on TikTok (@._room3._) Facebook (Room 3) and instagram ( room3_official). \nThe Mixtape \n\nThe Mixtape is a band of talented year 10/11 students known for their unique song covers which recently won them Kirklees Battle of the School Bands. This evenings line-up consists of vocalist Amber Mitchell\, drummer James Stokes\, guitarist Sylvie McKeown along with Eira Watson on keys and Grace Hobson on sax with a performance we’re sure you’ll enjoy. \nPrimal\nPrimal is a metal band formed by Ben Harper in 2022\, consisting of drummer Ben Harper\, bassist Taylor Mitchell\, lead guitarist Darach White and vocalist & frontman Christopher Radley. Each member with their own vibrant but different personality\, listeners will be sure to enjoy the band’s character while on stage. SUMMARY:First Flags of Hope Exhibition – Mossley Market Ground
DESCRIPTION:Mossley Market Ground will be transformed into an open-air gallery of colour\, creativity\, and community spirit as 100 towering silk flags take flight during the monthly farmers market. \nEach flag is a unique artwork\, hand-painted and standing between three and six metres tall. Together they create over 540 square metres of art – the equivalent of half a kilometre if laid end to end\, enough to rise higher than Blackpool Tower. \nThese flags have been years in the making. From school workshops to care homes\, from neighbourhood projects to artist studios\, hundreds of people across Greater Manchester – of all ages\, cultures\, and traditions –  have shared their voices\, memories\, and hopes to create them. Side by side\, their stories are woven into the fabric of every design. \nAcross history\, flags have marked identity and belonging. In this exhibition\, they mark something greater: resilience\, unity\, and shared pride. This is a movement that welcomes\, not excludes – showing what can be achieved when communities come together to listen\, share\, and create. \nAnd here in Mossley\, that story runs deeper still. The town was once at the heart of the Industrial Revolution\, its mills powering a textile trade that carried designs and fabrics from Greater Manchester to communities across the world. Textiles here have always been about connection\, creativity\, and exchange across cultures. Flags of Hope continues that legacy\, returning textile artistry to the town where it once shaped identity and industry\, and reimagining it as a living symbol of community pride and collaboration. \nThe Flags of Hope Exhibition is presented by Global Grooves and Cabasa CIC\, two Mossley-based organisations dedicated to bringing people together through art and celebration. (14+) \n \nYoga Session from Flow & Glow Yoga: 9 – 10am\nCome along and try a relaxing beginners yoga session with Flow & Glow Yoga Co. Suitable for all levels\, this 60 minute class will start with gentle meditation and breathwork followed by a beginner friendly flow\, moving through a sequence of postures and exploring how each one feels within the body before slowing down for a relaxing stretch and savasana (final resting pose). \nSuitable for ages 14+ \n  \n \nArts and Crafts: 10 – 12.30pm\nGet the whole family involved with some carnival inspired crafty time! \nSuitable for all ages \n  \n \nDecorate a Diwali candle with Dipak Dristi: 10 – 12.30pm\nJoin volunteers from Dipak Dristi to decorate a Diwali candle and try on traditional clothing. \nSuitable for all ages \n  \n \nOur Space Garden Activities: 10 – 12.30pm\nDrop in \nJoin us for an Our Space community garden session. \nSuitable for all ages \n  \n \nMusic & Movement & Workshop: 10.30 – 11.30 am\nJoin us for a family friendly Carnival movement workshop!
