Our house musicians will be playing a mixture of Latin and Brazilian vibes with an informal ‘Pagode’ style set with a unique Mossley flavour. Pagode is a type of samba originating in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Distinguished by rhythmic improvisation, its acoustic sound is created using a variety of percussion instruments, song and string instruments such as Cavaquinho and guitar.
This week we welcome special guest Marco Woolf – known for his introspective lyrics, dreamlike storytelling, and carefully crafted instrumentation—each element given equal emotional weight. His critically acclaimed EP ‘Francine, i’ was hailed as “light, complex, rich and immediate” by Pan African Music Magazine, with its limited 12” vinyl selling out in just 24 hours. The project gained widespread support from BBC 6Music, Jazz FM, and international radio.
