Join us for an afternoon of fabulous live music at The Vale as part of our much-loved Sunday Sessions — a relaxed, family-friendly gathering celebrating community, creativity, and great sound.
From 1:00pm, enjoy a laid-back session of Latin and Brazilian rhythms with our brilliant house musicians. Expect joyful, sun-soaked energy with a distinctive Pagode flavour — a style of samba from Rio de Janeiro known for its acoustic instrumentation, spontaneous improvisation, and infectious groove. Grab a drink from the bar, bring your friends, your kids, and even your instruments if you fancy jumping in for a number or two. It’s informal, friendly, and completely free.
Then, from 2:45pm, we invite you to stay for something truly extraordinary:
Rhythms in Conversation: B C Manjunath × Sidiki Dembélé
Presented by Global Grooves as part of Sunday Sessions
For one special afternoon, two of the world’s greatest percussionists share the same stage. B C Manjunath, Indian master of the mridangam and konnakol, joins Sidiki Dembélé, the Ivorian griot percussionist and cultural leader, for a live musical dialogue between South India and West Africa.
Both artists are internationally acclaimed for their innovation, depth, and artistry — Manjunath expanding the language of rhythm across global genres, and Dembélé embodying the living heritage of West African drumming and song. Together, they’ll explore the meeting points between their traditions through rhythm, story, and improvisation.
This rare collaboration is an unmissable moment for musicians, percussionists, and lovers of world music.
