Two of the world’s greatest percussionists come together for the first time in this extraordinary live collaboration. The Vale hosts an unmissable encounter between B C Manjunath, India’s foremost rhythmic innovator, and Sidiki Dembélé, the master djembe player and griot from the Ivory Coast.
BC Manjunath, the Indian master of mridangam and konnakol, is internationally recognised for his fearless rhythmic innovation and extraordinary precision. His work bridges Carnatic classical tradition with jazz, flamenco, and contemporary world music, expanding the very language of rhythm.
Sidiki Dembélé, born into a celebrated griot family of musicians, diplomats, and oral historians, commands the djembe and ngoni with magnetic energy and profound cultural insight. His performances connect ancient lineage with a contemporary global voice that continues to inspire students and audiences worldwide.
This event will include Solo presentations from each artist, revealing their lineage, artistry, and mastery of rhythm; A world-first collaboration between two masters of percussive traditions.
This is a concert for all music lovers, musicians, percussionists, and anyone who lives for rhythm, pulse, and creative excellence. Expect virtuosic skill, deep cultural dialogue, and moments of breathtaking connection.
