Not working and ready to try something new? Get Creative is a brand new, free 12-week course for Tameside residents who want to enjoy being creative, build confidence, and explore new possibilities. If you want to make a change and not sure how then this course is for you.
Through 3 mini-modules you’ll gain practical creative skills and confidence to contribute to a public art event in Tameside. You’ll enjoy being tutored by artist facilitators with expertise in Carnival and visual arts. You’ll also be invited to be get involved with community events at The Vale during the programme and beyond.
Module 1 – Masks with Mel (4 weeks)
Module 2 – Making a Carnival piece for display (3 weeks)
Module 3 – Textiles with Lizzie (4 weeks)
We’ll support and guide you every step of the way and you don’t need previous experience.
The Vale is a friendly centre and there will be volunteering opportunities that arise from our work at The Vale after the course.
The course will run every Wednesday 12 – 3pm for 12 weeks. The first session is 17th September and the last session on December 3rd
Can I join?
If you are 16+, live in Tameside, are not in paid work, or irregularly self-employed, then YES. If you’re 50+ we’re particularly keen to hear from you.
How do I sign up?
You must register with us to join the course. You can do this by filling in the form below, dropping us an email to [email protected] or calling us on 01457 238 089. We will then contact you to find out a little more about you and answer any questions. Enrolment will be on 17th September.
