Fuego, Sol y Agua – A night of Flemenco

Experience the soulful rhythms and vibrant melody and dance of Flamenco from Andalusia right here in Mossley. Brought to us by internationally renowned spanish music and dance superstars Rebecca Ortega, Ramón Ruiz and Natalia Marin this will truly be an evening to remember.

Rebeca Ortega has her base in Seville where she releases her recent production “RAÍCES” at Teatro La Fundición, dances at tablao Los Gallos, Tablao Flamenco de Sevilla and peñas flamencas like Torres Macarena and teaches flamenco dance classes, while combining her unceasing touring which has lead her to perform in Spain, Portugal, England, Scotland, Wales, France, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Denmark and Switzerland to give performances, workshops and conferences.

She has a long formation including Flamenco, Classical Spanish Dance, Ballet and contemporary dance at prestigious dance schools like Professional Dance Conservatory of Seville, or flamenco most renown schools, “Amor de Dios” in Madrid, “Flamenco Danza” in Seville.

Ramón Ruiz is a leading flamenco guitarist, composer, recording artist and creative director. His music beautifully expresses complex emotion, mastery and maturity with a unique yet instantly recognisable sound moving flamenco into a new exciting era.

From Granada, Ramón was trained in Seville’s renowned flamenco tablao ‘Los Gallos’ by a generation of world famous flamenco artists. After many years of working in Spain, across Europe and touring internationally, he continues to develop his art from London – followed by a new international and very current audience.

With extraordinary dexterity and musicality in both traditional and contemporary stylistic genres, Ramón recently recorded his third album Calle Lunga in Abbey Road Studios London. It includes all original compositions and arrangements and was inspired by his journey of nearly 40 years mastering flamenco guitar internationally.

Natalia Marin – A native of Seville, this multifaceted artist has an artistic range that enables her to excel in various theater arts. She began her artistic journey in the Peña Torres Macarena de Sevilla singing as a soloist and accompanying flamenco dance. She later performed in important flamenco clubs (peñas) such as that of San Juan del Puerto (Huelva), the Peña of Moguer (Huelva), Los Siete Claveles (Sevilla) or the Peña de Martos (Jaén), Pastora Pavón (Arahal, Sevilla) among others.

In her extensive trajectory as a flamenco singer (“cantaora”), she has shared the stage with artists of the rank of José de la Tomasa, Jesús Heredia, Juan José Amador, Curro Fernández, Calixto Sánchez, Esperanza Fernández and La Paquera de Jerez, among others.
