Experience a rare insight into the creative process of the Manchester International Roots Orchestra (MIRO), as they work behind the scenes with Sidiki Dembélé — one of the world’s leading West African percussionists, composers, and collaborators.
This is an open invitation for musicians, music-lovers, and the local community to come and observe an exclusive rehearsal and workshop session — part of MIRO’s current development supported by Arts Council England. The evening offers a unique glimpse into the collaborative process behind MIRO’s globally-influenced sound, blending traditions from Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, and beyond.
As a special finale, guests will be welcome to join a short, informal jam with the musicians, if they feel inspired.
This is not a public workshop, but a special opportunity to witness musical ideas unfold, and to discover more about MIRO’s work and future plans for creative collaboration in the area.
Come along, listen in, and be part of the conversation.
